Out of the 11 scents in our Tea Scent Collection, three turned out to be green tea variations.
In the previous blog, How Our Tea Scent Collection Began, we shared how Oolong Tea is the most requested tea note when customers customise their perfumes with us, and was the heart of the Tea Scent Collection. But behind the scenes, another tea has quietly shaped many of our creations.
Green tea has always been our secret weapon.
Whenever a fragrance feels slightly too sweet or a little heavy, we reach for green tea. It tones down the sweetness, adds freshness, and brings everything back into balance. In many of our custom perfumes, it has played a supporting role. Essential, yet understated.
This time, we decided to let it shine on its own. Welcome to our Green Tea Series.
T1: The Crisp Citrus Green Tea Perfume
If you love a fragrance that instantly brightens your mood, T1 might be your go-to green tea perfume.
T1 opens with a sparkling burst of yuzu. The citrus note immediately lifts your spirits and feels like stepping into sunlight after being indoors all day. It is fresh, clean, and uplifting.
In Singapore’s warm weather, this scent feels especially refreshing. It gives you that just-showered, put-together feeling, even on the hottest afternoons.
Perfect for:
Work days
Morning errands
Anytime you need a quick emotional reset
If you are searching for a fresh citrus perfume with green tea, T1 delivers that bright, crisp freshness that feels like the sunshine.
Green Tea In Its Truest Form
This is where green tea truly stands on its own. Among the three, this is the purest green tea fragrance in the collection. No competing sweetness. No distracting layers. Just clean, simple Green Tea.
Green Tea will make you feel like you're sipping iced green tea under the hot Singapore sun. Cooling, light, quietly satisfying.
For those who love minimalist perfumes, this one feels effortless. It does not overpower the room.
Perfect for those who love:
Minimalist scents
A soft, non-overpowering tea perfume
Clean and refreshing everyday fragrances
Sometimes simplicity speaks the loudest.
Matcha: A Creamy, Comforting Scent
Then there is Matcha. Matcha, by definition, is a type of green tea, so I’m including it in this series. While classic green tea feels fresh and light, matcha feels softer and more comforting.
There’s a gentle balance of creaminess and bitterness, like a ceremonial-grade matcha latte whisked until smooth. The scent has depth, but it unfolds slowly. Subtle, yet memorable.
This is for someone looking for something a little different in their perfume collection. Matcha will make you feel calm and grounded.
Perfect for:
Slow weekends
Intimate gatherings
Days when you want to feel centred and relaxed
If you enjoy creamy tea perfumes, Matcha might surprise you.
Honourable Mention: Jasmine Tea
While technically more floral, our Jasmine Tea has received an unexpected compliment.
Several customers have told us it reminds them of Pokka Green Tea. We take that as high praise.
Jasmine Tea is stronger and more floral-focused than our other green tea scents, but it carries that nostalgic bottled green tea scent many of us grew up with in Singapore.
Sometimes fragrance is not just about how it smells. It's about memory and nostalgia.
From Supporting Role to Main Character
Green tea has always been part of our perfume story. It has balanced overly sweet blends, softened heavy notes, and quietly shaped many custom fragrances over the years. For the longest time, it worked behind the curtain. This time, we gave it the spotlight.
Whether you are drawn to the bright citrus freshness of T1, the purity of Green Tea, or the creamy comfort of Matcha, each scent shows a different side of green tea.
At The Ooctopus, we believe every note deserves its moment to shine. Even the ones that have been quietly supporting others all along.
